Leslie D. Woodcock Jr., M.D., graduated from Nassau University Medical Center as Chief Resident of Ophthalmology in 2004. He completed his internship at Wilson Memorial Hospital - United Health Services in Binghamton, NY. After attending the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania in 1996, he received his Doctor of Medicine degree from SUNY Upstate Medical University. Dr. Woodcock Jr. holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in biology from Boston College.
During his participation in a retinal research program at the laboratory of Dr. William H. Brunken, he performed in situ hybridization and PCR to reveal the role of the beta-laminin protein in the differentiation of early progenitor cells to rod and cone photoreceptors. Dr. Woodcock Jr. also microscopically separated hundreds of in tact retinas from the eyes of embryonic mice in a parallel study.
On an international level, Dr. Woodcock Jr. joined a humanitarian and teaching mission to the Philippines with Felipe I .Tolentino M.D., a retinal specialist from Massachusetts Eye & Ear Infirmary. Dr. Woodcock Jr. worked in hospital clinics, trained residents and worked out of a converted tractor trailer operating room.
Dr. Woodcock Jr. combined his business knowledge and medical expertise to develop and implement a business plan for the integration of PRK and LASIK into the practice of Laserview Center of Central New York. A leading LASIK surgeon in Upstate New York, Dr. Woodcock Jr. provides patients in Syracuse and the surrounding communities the surgical experience and friendly demeanor that his father had for 35 years.
Dr. Woodcock Jr. is an active member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the New York Ophthalmology Society, among other professional organizations.
Bruce Levinson, O.D., F.A.A.O., is an optometrist with advanced training and extensive experience in the diagnosis, treatment, and management of eye disorders. He places professional emphasis on therapeutic contact lenses, sports vision, children's vision, and post-operative co-surgical care of myopia reduction (nearsighted reduction) and cataract patients.
After earning a Bachelor of Arts degree at SUNY Buffalo in 1988, he studied optometry at the New England College of Optometry in Boston. He graduated at the top of his class and served as class president.
Following clinical training at the Dimock Health Center in Atlanta and Augsberg Army Hospital in Germany, Dr. Levinson completed further training with Dr. Donald Korb, one of the most prominent contact lens practitioners in the country. He found employment with Cornea Associates in Boston, one of the test sites for refractive laser surgery (nearsighted surgery).
Dr. Levinson is a fellow of the American Academy of Optometry and served as president of the Central New York Optometric Society. He has published articles in various professional journals and lectured to groups in the Central New York area.
Dr. Levinson and his wife Darlene, a pediatric occupational therapist, live in Cazenovia. He grew up in Fayetteville, and his wife is a native of Maine.
Jeffrey M. Roth, O.D., F.A.A.O., is a graduate of the SUNY College of Optometry, where he completed his residency in Ocular Disease and Special Testing. He was awarded the VSP Award for Dedication to Primary Care, the William Eisenberg Award for Excellence in Ocular Disease, and is a member of the Beta Sigma Kappa Honor Society.
The past Director of Ophthalmology and Optometry for Woodhull Hospital in Brooklyn, Dr. Roth was an Assistant Clinical Professor at SUNY. He went on to become the Clinical Director for TLC Laser Vision Centers in Fairfield, Connecticut, where he gained Refractive Surgery experience from seasoned practitioners within the TLC system. Dr. Roth has written several articles for respected journals and published posters and papers for the Academy of Optometry and the Association for Research in Ophthalmology and Vision.
Currently, Dr. Roth is involved with International Research related to Lebers Hereditary Optic Neuropathy (LHON), and has co-managed thousands of surgical patients. He has lectured extensively in topics which vary from Ocular Trauma to Surgical co-management and has articles in print in both Ophthalmic and Optometric literature. Dr. Roth is also an Adjunct Faculty for the Pennsylvania College of Optometry.
Dr. Jeffrey M. Roth, his wife Keri and two daughters, Charlotte and Helaina, reside in the Syracuse area.
